A teenage girl Luz, following an owl, finds herself in another world in which there is magic. Luz gets to the witch Eda Clawthorne who has a creature similar to a cat named King.
Eda is the most powerful witch, she is cursed. If you do not drink the potion, then she will turn into a monster.
Luz asks her to have Eda teach her magic and she agrees.
Luz finds friends at the local school of magicians, where she later enters.
The cartoon teaches mostly positive things, that there is nothing more important than friendship and family.
